Please read the document below for important information regarding going through Customs when you arrive in the U.S.    ADMISSION INTO THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.pdf

Pack Lightly & Appropriately for Weather   Summer.pdf  Winter.pdf

  • If you do not own the clothing and connot afford to buy it, do not worry; our volunteers will provide these things for you.
  • Do not bring things that we can provide for you here that will take up lots of space in your suitcase;  towels and basic toiletries are not needed.
  • Again, do not bring gifts for us; the foundation volunteers are not allowed to accept any gifts.
  • Bring an extra empty suitcase that you can use to bring things you accumulate home.
  • Do not bring food or agricultural items of any sort; they will be confiscated by customs.

Luggage Allowance

Each passenger over the age of two is allowed a total of 2 bags on an international flight.  We recommend that when you are traveling to the U.S. you pack only one small bag and place it inside another larger bag, so you will have one bag to check traveling to the U.S. but 2 bags to check when returning to Iran.

  • EACH BAG MAY WEIGH UP TO 23KGS ONLY
  • Total dimensions (length + width + height) of each may not exceed 158 cm.
  • Economy Class passengers are also permitted 1 piece of carry-on baggage (weight must not exceed 7kgs and size must not exceed 55cm x 38cm x 20cm)

NOTE:  Passengers traveling with infants are entitled to the following:

  • An additional allowance of 1 piece of checked baggage that must not exceed 115 cm in total dimensions (length + width + height) & weighing no more than 10 kgs.
  • For infant food and other in-flight necessities, passengers who are traveling with an infant are also permitted one additional piece of carry-on baggage  55cm x 38cm x 20cm not exceeding 5 kgs.
  • Passengers traveling with infants are also permitted one carry-cot OR one fully collapsible stroller as a carry-on item if cabin space allows or else as checked baggage.

Important Tips:

  • If possible, your luggage should have wheels for easier transportation.
  • Pack one full suitcase inside of another empty suitcase so you will have room to take the items home that you buy or are given during your visit in Minnesota.
  • Weigh your luggage to assure you stay within the airline guidelines.  There are exorbitant fees for luggage that is over weight limits which the Foundation will not pay.
