Nima
This delightful little boy was born with significant abnormalities of the bowels, sphincter & urinary tract. Since his birth he has received constant medical & surgical treatment.
Once advised of his predicament, we were able to make arrangements for him & his 21-year-old mother to travel to the United States for major reconstructive surgery.
Upon arrival he was operated on by Dr. Hossein Aliabadi, pediatric urologist & founding member of the board of directors of The Foundation for the Children of Iran. During a six-hour procedure, Dr. Aliabadi & his partner, Dr. David Schmeling, & the team at Minneapolis Children's Hospital successfully completed implantation of an artificial spinchter and other related reconstructive procedures.
Within three weeks our precious baby was successfully recovering. He celebrated his first birthday with his friends from The Foundation for the Children of Iran, in Minnesota, and returned to Iran.
